Shopping in the dark at the wonder promenade
Passeig de Gràcia is the number one commercial hub of Barcelona and one of the main ones in the entire world. And, in some way—and without any doubt—, The Shopping Night Barcelona is the annual main festival, the birthday, the big day of this powerful artery. Or, better said, its grandest night. The seventh edition of the event, already more than established, will be celebrated on Thursday, December 1st (the night from the 1st to the 2nd) under the theme Alice on the Passeig of Wonders.
The glamorous kickoff to the Barcelona commerce Christmas campaign pays tribute, indeed, to the beloved first work of Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, on the 150th anniversary of its publication. The famous book will be the central theme of the event, where the Palau Robert will be transformed into the Queen of Hearts' Gardens, the setting for the official party. The godmothers, once again, are exceptional: designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada as the Queen of Hearts and model Laura Escanes as Alice.
A Shopping Night more gastronomic than ever
The Shopping Night arrives this year with very significant new features: the overall and real offer of the promenade is enhanced, starting with the restaurant sector, one of the main highlights of the shopping evening. Another addition is the so-called Luxury Experience, a credential that the luxury stores of the Passeig will distribute, inviting their customers to enjoy exclusive parties and events. Designed just for them. No one else.
No fewer than 85,000 souls attended the last edition of the event, 20,000 more than the previous one. How many will there be this time? This must be the question on the minds of the organizing agency Up to You Barcelona, the collaborating Association Amics de Passeig de Gràcia, and the Barcelona City Council, which lends its support to an initiative designed to "stimulate commerce, culture, gastronomy, and the lifestyle of Passeig de Gràcia".
