Sonia Caballero: “The great visibility that companies like Núñez y Navarro provide us with makes new clients take note of their good craftsmanship”
Another year brings to our city the Barcelona Meeting Point, the only professional and international real estate event held in Spain. Since its first edition back in 1997, Núñez y Navarro has faithfully attended this benchmark event in our country. This year could not be an exception, and attendees will be able to find the Núñez y Navarro stand at Hall 8 (stand B-231) of the Montjuïc exhibition center.
Among all the real estate offerings of the company, attendees at the fair will be able to view the residential promotion that Núñez y Navarro has in Can Gambús, in Sabadell. A high-precision model will show even the smallest details of the homes that can be found in this promotion. The ones responsible for miniaturizing the project have been Encaix. To learn more about the fascinating world of model making, we have spoken with Sonia Caballero, in charge of supervising the scale reproduction of Can Gambús.
How long has your relationship with the Núñez y Navarro group been going on?
The relationship between ENCAIX and Núñez y Navarro was strengthened in 2015 with our collaboration for the Barcelona Meeting Point.
What does a showcase like the Barcelona Meeting Point mean for your company?
After more than 20 years of experience in the industry, BMP represents the most important meeting with exhibiting companies today, as well as quality networking with professionals related to the real estate sector and the best showcase for our products.
Have you received any new requests or commissions as a result of your models for Núñez y Navarro?
The great visibility that this fair provides us, and through such important companies as Núñez y Navarro, ensures that new clients take notice of the highly experienced developers and recognize their excellent craftsmanship. Surely many of our new clients took good note of who made the models for them.
What will we be able to see this year at the Núñez y Navarro booth at the Barcelona Meeting Point?
Among other promotions that are currently on the market, we will be able to see the new model of the Residential Promotion of Can Gambús in Sabadell. It is a generously sized reproduction where we can view a large project that combines single-family homes with three apartment buildings.
How long does it take to make a model of an area like Can Gambús?
The production time is two months, starting from the moment the mock-up is designed. The ultimate goal is for the mock-up to become a strategic element in the sales process, aiding the purchase decision-making.
What would be the process of creating and constructing your works?
The process begins when the client sends us the floor plans, sections, and elevations corresponding to the project in question, as well as renderings to see the project's finishes and the final image they hope to achieve. In this way, we combine the different visual elements to ensure they have harmony in their commercial presentation. Once the plans are scaled, the most appropriate breakdown is carried out to avoid joints on facades and to construct the buildings with utmost fidelity to the project, and the pieces are cut and engraved with the laser so that once assembled, they are given the appropriate finish: exposed brickwork, monolayer, etc. In parallel, the base on which the model will be located is constructed, capturing the topography at the chosen scale. Subsequently, the assembly of the buildings is carried out to ensure that everything fits perfectly, and we move on to the painting process using specific techniques to give it the exact finish it will have in reality. The elements of furniture and landscaping are integrated, as well as the characters most suitable for the type of residence. In this way, our models are quickly recognized because they have LIFE, according to professionals in the field, as well as being the element that brings the client closest to reality and is essential for the purchasing decision.
Is it easier to model a 21st-century building or a modernist one?
Every building has its peculiarities, it's true that a modernist building has specific features that may seem more difficult to represent, but with the various techniques and technologies available today, it can be depicted with the same realism. We often find ourselves with 21st-century buildings that are very complicated, architecturally speaking, even though they might look simpler at first glance due to their straighter lines. Thus, each building has its uniqueness and for Encaix, it represents a challenge that we always manage to portray in a unique way.
What has been the most complex job you have had to carry out?
The most complex task due to the project type was the creation of an MIM (Multimedia Interactive Model) of two towers in Panama. In this model, we designed a unique marketing tool in the sector by combining all elements related to the project and including Neuromarketing. Two towers were made, one with 92 floors and the other with 83, including all interiors and furniture, as well as common areas: pitch & putt, spa, gym, etc.
At the MIM, which was presented at the Barcelona Meeting Point in 2007, and which was the main attraction of the exhibition, the user or potential client could navigate through a touchscreen next to the model where they would choose the type of housing they wanted, and simultaneously, the corresponding houses on the model would light up to meet the criteria. In this way, they could check the views they would have, the layout of the housing, and everything else they wanted to know. When navigating through the common areas that were lighting up on the model, the monitor would emit different scents according to the selected area to transport the user to a sensory reality and unique experience.
