Alfonso García Cardó and Victoria Rovira, winners of #MiraLaRotonda. Congratulations!
On Tuesday we previewed the six finalists of the Instagram photo contest with which, since July, we have been inviting you to share how you see the Andreu tower, La Rotonda, the iconic modernist building rehabilitated by Núñez y Navarro. And today, at last, we can finally announce the winners. Congratulations to Alfonso García Cardó, author of the best daytime photo, and to Victoria Rovira, who took the best nighttime image. We will soon be presenting the awards. Congratulations to both and thank you as well to everyone who posted each and every one of the nearly 1,500 participating photos.
Why these and not others?
The jury has chosen these photos for the unique perspective from which they view Adolf Ruiz Casamitjana's building, and for their great originality and creativity. However, the choice is also and above all due to a third reason: the integration of La Rotonda into its immediate urban surroundings and, ultimately, into the Sant Gervasi neighborhood and the city of Barcelona, to which the intervention has returned a key piece of its skyline and collective memory.
The difficult decision has been made by a jury composed of the photographer Toni Mateu; Daniel Zafra, Marketing Director of NN, and Silvia Omedes, president of the Photographic Social Vision Foundation. The four finalist photos that ultimately did not win are the daytime ones by Alba Piqué, Pili M. G. and Oscar García Ortega, and the nighttime one by Berta Tiana. Congratulations and keep it up! Our congratulations and thanks to all the contestants for the fifteen hundred photos received: the true winner of the contest is, in fact, the city of Barcelona.
Two winners, two prizes
The prize for the best daytime photo consists of a package that includes a digital SLR camera Nikon D330 with a AF-P 18-55 lens from the same manufacturer, valued at 679.90 euros, and a drone DJI Phantom 2 Vision Quadcopter, valued, in this case, at 324.50 euros. Ultimately, the package guarantees the latest technology for capturing the best photos. Or rather, to keep capturing them! Enjoy it, Alfonso! ;)
And you, Victoria, as well! :) For the best night-time photo, you've won a two-night stay with dinner and lunch in a colonial suite, the superior room of the sumptuous Hotel 1898 by NN Hotels, the only colonial hotel in the Catalan capital. The luxurious establishment, unique in its kind, is located in the refurbished headquarters of the General Tobacco Company of the Philippines, right on Barcelona's Rambla, with exceptional services and spectacular views. The two nights plus the two meals are valued at 2,500 euros.
Thank you again to all the participants. Let's keep watching La Rotonda together!
